Welcome!
Hello! My name is Dr. Lizite Salzman (she/her), and I am a licensed clinical psychologist. My legal first name is Anlize, but I go by my nickname Lizite (“Lee-zeet”). I know my first name is unusual so I won’t be offended if it takes a few tries to get it!
I opened Salzman Psychology, LLC, after many years of clinical experience in a variety of settings. I have chosen to specialize in CBT because it is so effective, and I love getting to see clients learn skills, get better, and graduate therapy knowing they can manage their mental health for life.

Experience
Journey to private practice
I began working as a therapist in 2004, after earning a master of science, and an educational specialist degree, in mental health counseling. I worked as a therapist for several years, and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in 2007.
At this time, I made the decision to return to school, with the goal of getting more extensive clinical training. My professional experience provided me a unique perspective, and the ability to take even greater advantage of my training and supervision.
I graduated with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2010, and became a licensed clinical psychologist in 2011. I founded Salzman Psychology, LLC In 2017, achieving my long term goal of opening my own private practice.
Clinical Experience
I have worked and trained in many places around Indiana, including at substance abuse treatment centers, a Veterans Administration hospital, community mental health centers, and university counseling centers.
My clinical training has focused on providing individual therapy to adults, although I have also worked with children, adolescents, families, and couples. I have provided care to people with a wide range of clinical concerns, including mood disorders, trauma related disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, conduct disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders.
I have also served in multiple administrative and leadership roles, including providing training and clinical supervision to masters level counseling students, and professional mental health practitioners.
Presentation Experience
I have extensive experience providing psychoeducational presentations and trainings on a variety of topics in mental health, including perfectionism, assertiveness and communication, relaxation and stress management, depression, body image, social skills, substance abuse, gambling addiction, test anxiety, sexual assault and harassment prevention, suicide prevention, LGBTQ ally training, and psychology private practice start-up.
